MarginViewer ("we", "us") provides profit analytics for Etsy sellers. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it. In short: we collect only what is needed to show you your own shop's numbers, we never sell your data, and you can delete everything at any time.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: your email address and name, used to create and secure your MarginViewer account.
• Shop data from Etsy: when you connect your shop through Etsy's official OAuth flow, we access — with read-only permissions — your orders (receipts), payment ledger entries (fees, refunds, ad charges, payouts), listings, and basic shop information.
• Data you enter: product costs (cost of goods, packaging) that you add per listing.

We never see or store your Etsy password. Authentication happens entirely on Etsy's own site.

2. How we use it

• To calculate and display your revenue, fees, and true profit.
• To send alerts you have enabled (e.g. margin drops, unusual fees).
• To generate CSV exports you request.

We do not sell, rent, or share your shop data with third parties. We do not use your data to train machine-learning models. We do not show your data to other MarginViewer users.

3. Etsy API

MarginViewer uses the Etsy API to retrieve your shop data. Our use of information received from the Etsy API complies with Etsy's API Terms of Use. The term "Etsy" is a trademark of Etsy, Inc. This application uses the Etsy API but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy, Inc. You can revoke MarginViewer's access at any time from your Etsy account's connected-apps settings; doing so immediately stops all data synchronization.

4. Storage and security

Your data is stored in encrypted databases hosted with reputable cloud providers, transmitted only over TLS (HTTPS), and access tokens are stored encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to the operator of the service.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You may request full deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@marginviewer.com. Deletion is completed within 30 days. Revoking Etsy access without deleting your account stops new syncs but keeps previously imported data until you delete it.

6. Cookies

We use only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location (including under GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data, and to object to its processing. Contact us at hello@marginviewer.com to exercise any of these rights.

8. Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or an in-app notice before they take effect.
